Galette des Rois, also know as King cake is a buttered puff pastry filled with frangipane (almond cream mixed with crème patissière).
This desert is only served once a year and every child in France is waiting for Epiphany on 6th of January.
We hide a ceramic piece, a “fève” inside the cake; whoever finds this fève becomes the king or queen of that table.
